Chapter 19

WE AWAKEN IN each other’s arms as the morning sun fills the bedroom with yellow light.

We both slept amazingly.

I’m on my side, with Kellan spooned up behind me nice and close. I have no idea how we got in this position. The last thing I remember is being on top of him.

After a cup of black coffee and 30 minutes of cardio in our new home gym, we go into the bathroom and shower together.

I see the fireplace. “Oh, darn, we forgot to shower in here last night to check out the lights and the fireplace.”

“That’s okay. We can do it tonight.”

After a quick breakfast of scrambled eggs and a bowl of oatmeal sweetened with stevia and mixed with instant coffee and cinnamon, we decide to take the new Range Rover to the meeting.

On the way to the Paramount lot, I see a bakery. I suggest we get some stuff for everyone at the meeting. We go in and buy a big box of assorted bagels made with egg protein flower instead of wheat, and some assorted shmears.

When we get to the office, everyone gives us hugs and handshakes all around. Everyone goes ape over the bagels and shmears. We sign more paperwork, have a little side meeting with Calista and her agent Jeremee, and decide to sign with her.

We meet a ton of new people. Sheila knows everyone and introduces us. Everyone is super nice and respectful and the whole meeting almost feels more like a cocktail party or a Sunday afternoon football game party at someone’s house.

Sheila explains to me that while the writers, directors, and primarily the producers create the magic and make the entertainment wheel roll, it’s the attorneys who are the grease that makes it all possible. Without them, the wheel would go nowhere.

Several people mention that they’ve seen my YouTube and Instagram videos and that they were very impressed and that as a result they’ve begun working out and eating better. Because of me! Wow. I’m thrilled that I could be such an inspiration.

Sheila hands out a production schedule for everyone. It’s going to take us all over the world! There is a long, long list of dates followed by the location where we’re shooting. USA, Canada, Israel, Japan, Australia…

“Everyone make sure your passport is in order,” Sheila calls out.

Holy monkey nuts; I don’t even have a passport. I look at Kellan, horrorstricken.

Ever the mind reader (how does he do that???), Kellan whispers in my ear, “Don’t worry. You’ll have a passport in seventy-two hours.” He winks at me.

I have no idea how this will, or possibly can, happen. But I’ve seen Kellan in action enough times to know that he’ll make it happen. He always has his methods.

“This rough production schedule is exactly that,” says Sheila, “rough. But it’s something. As you can see, there’s a lot of travel. So don’t commit to any family vacations for the next couple of years. Especially you, Claire.”

Every single person in the room turns to look at me.
